Why deal with a faceless corporation when you can work with real people?
At Technology Means Business, we’re proud of the fact we deliver local IT support to small- and medium-sized companies all over the South East and London. Because we have offices located in Hampshire, Essex, Kent and London, we’re never too far away from our customers, and that means they’re not left waiting for us when they need assistance.
But proximity to engineers is not the only advantage of providing local IT support. Perhaps even more importantly, it helps us to build relationships with our customers and with the communities we serve.
Of course, you can always get hold of TMB on the phone, and we do offer remote support, but we also realise the importance of face-to-face meetings.
When you’re busy running a business, you might not have time to meet all your suppliers in person, but there are real, scientifically observed reasons why in-person communication is important. One of the key reasons is it helps to build trust. For us, that means you can see who we are, what we’re about, and how we look after our customers.
It’s the same for all businesses, though. Talking to your suppliers and customers on the phone or via email is great, but if you can actually meet them, then even better. Yes, you’ll have to invest more time and energy in this, but it’s worth it. You’ll come away with a better understanding of them and their needs, and they’ll have chance to get to know you as well.
Local IT Support Vs Multinationals
Get your IT support from a large, multinational corporation, and you might struggle to build any kind of meaningful relationship with them. It’s like the difference between Fred, who runs the corner shop on your street, and the manager of the huge supermarket in town, who you’ve never met. You’ve known Fred for years, and you know if you have a problem, he’ll deal with it personally. The supermarket boss will probably assign someone else to your case, and it will likely be a different person each time.
Just like the corner shop and supermarket, both local IT support and multinational IT companies have their advantages, but for SME’s, it should be clear which is the best fit. SMEs need an IT supplier they know they can get hold of easily in an emergency – not a faceless corporation with a call centre in some far-flung, overseas location.
With You For The Long Haul
Because we care about the relationships we have with our customers, we don’t simply do a deal then cut and run. As well as paid support, we offer free advice and tips with our seminars and blog posts. We also inform all our customers of important updates or security issues, making sure their IT solutions are safe and effective.
The big multinationals do this too, but we’re willing to bet that if you have a question, you’ll find it much easier to get an answer from a local IT support company like TMB than you would elsewhere.
As we say, we have offices in four locations in the South East - specifically Havant, Colchester, Chatham and London. From here, we can also serve businesses in Surrey, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Berkshire and more. We will - and do - travel further, and our remote support services are useful for customers who are further afield.
